Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson, Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler and Human Rights Commission (HRC) Executive Director Sharon Ortiz have released a joint letter to Washington state employers, insurance companies and benefit plan administrators regarding healthcare benefits.  The letter applies in Washington state; however, the logic may apply elsewhere, too. Questions Continue to Plague Milwaukee’s Sick Leave Ordinance

Evenly split in their decision to affirm or reverse the previous order from the Circuit Court, the Wisconsin Supreme Court justices decided that the best course of action for this case would be to remand it back to the 4th District Court of Appeals.  Six months prior to their decision, the appellate court had also declined to make a decision to reverse or affirm the judgment of the Circuit Court, claiming that the issue was one that should be handled by the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
